WORKSHOPS

WORKSHOPS PROGRAMME

Thanks to generous funding from Derbyshire Community Foundation, the Bingham Trust and the Round Table, we are able to offer a series of workshops in 2013. A common theme through them all will be how to beat the recession, and be more sustainable, at the same time.

Our first session was held on Saturday 26th January, ten people had a fun afternoon WINE MAKING in Janet's kitchen. They discovered just how easy it is to turn cheap or surplus fruit into delicious wine.

Our series of BASIC COOKERY SKILLS started on Sunday 3rd February. This will consist of 6 practical sessions, teaching you how to ditch those expensive and unhealthy takeaways, and make your own scrumptious meals using cheap ingredients and leftovers. Sessions are from 2-4pm every Sunday. We are covering:
3rd February  - Nine Ways to Cook an Egg

10th February - Cooking with Cheese
17th February - Soups and Stews
24th February - Pasta, Rice etc.
3rd March - Pies and Pasties
    10th March - Can’t Cook Challenge
Hopefully these will be followed by a couple of more advanced sessions on bread-making and vegetarian cooking.
You don't have to sign up to all the sessions you can pick and choose, but you do need to book a place as numbers are strictly limited. Contact Charles by email or on 077 696 27133.

During the Easter holidays we'll be running an afternoon session, making accessories out of scraps and waste packaging. This could be a fun thing to do with the kids - but all children must bring their own adult with them.
