Economics and a reliance on science and technology to solve our problems has led to an unsustainable situation where continued growth in consumption is required for governments and business to be considered successful. This is a form of insanity. Economics is at the heart of our destructive ways and our faith in it has blinded us.
FABRICS WORKSHOP No 2
14th March, 7:30-9:30pm - Rag Rugs
Learn how to make a cosy or useful rug from scraps, using methods our ancestors used to keep their toes off the chill floors. It’s very simple and satisfying. Bring some old colourful tee shirts to use, and get something started to finish at home.
21st March, 7:30-9:30pm - Revamp & Repair
Bring an item of clothing that needs mending or altering and we will help you to do it. There will be a couple of sewing machines, learn how to use one. We will also have ideas and inspiration for revamping clothing that you’re tired of - challenge us!
4th April, 1:30-3:30pm - Accesorize!
Have fun turning scraps and waste packaging into bags, hats, wallets, belts and other accessories. No sewing required. A fun thing to do with the kids in the Easter holidays - but all children must bring their own adult!
Then after Easter, dates still to be confirmed
