I've requested, through the Chatsworth website, that I'd like to make  contact with the 'Devonshire Group Environmental Committee' http://www.chatsworth.org/a-greener-chatsworth ref: parcel of land in Buxton (i.e. Lismore field).   I'm not going to hold my breath for a response, though.

Orchard

Perhaps today marks a turning of tide in our efforts to find space for a community orchard in Buxton.  Not only did Steve & I have a very positive meeting with Monica Gillespie (HPBC) who believes there's a good chance we can use some land near the Junior School, but I also received a call from the Environment Committee at Chatsworth! He will be able to present the Food Group's ideas for Lismore Field to the committee for discussion at the end of this month. So we should then get some official response from the Devonshire estate. Lets hope it's a supportive one.
