Do you like making and mending things? Would you welcome a community workshop space with serious wood and metal working equipment, tools, and skilled people who could make things with or for you? We have been looking for an affordable space where we can install equipment (currently in storage) where professionals could access equipment they don’t need all the time, and people can learn how to make things from scratch, upcycle scrap into art, or fabricate a bit to make something broken work again. We may have found the space that will work and we’d like to give people a chance to have a peek, share ideas and maybe get involved in helping to make it happen. On Thursday 23rd July between 3 and 5pm we will be in the garden beside & behind the Working Men’s Club on Lightwood Road (near the junction with Fairfield Rd). Please come along and let us know what you think. We hope you will agree that this could be a really valuable resource for our town, community and economy.
